Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently shared the backstory of his famous “arms out” pose, which has become a signature move in almost all his films. Speaking at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, SRK revealed that this iconic pose was actually created by accident, thanks to legendary choreographer Saroj Khan.
During the shoot of a dance sequence in the early 90s, Shah Rukh struggled to perform a specific dance step that required a “dip.” After a night of practice, he returned to the set, ready to perfect the move. However, Saroj Khan had different plans and instructed him to simply stretch his arms out instead of attempting the complicated dip. This simple adjustment led to the birth of one of Bollywood’s most recognizable poses.
SRK humorously shared that he later “made it scientific” by adding specific instructions, like keeping the right leg at a certain angle. He admitted with a laugh that the pose has no deep meaning—it’s just him extending his arms, but it became a hit.
In addition to this revelation, Shah Rukh confirmed his role in the upcoming action film “King,” directed by Sujoy Ghosh, which will also reportedly feature his daughter, Suhana Khan, in her big-screen debut. The actor mentioned he needs to prepare physically for the action scenes, ensuring he’s fit and agile for the role.
With this candid confession, SRK continues to endear himself to fans by sharing the charming origins of what has become a beloved cinematic gesture.
