Gadar 2, a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha”, was released on August 11, 2023, and quickly became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film is set during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 and follows Tara Singh (played by Sunny Deol) on a dangerous mission to rescue his son, Charanjeet ‘Jeete’ Singh (played by Utkarsh Sharma), from the Pakistani army. The film captures the undying love and patriotism of Tara Singh as he faces overwhelming odds to bring his son back home. Ameesha Patel reprises her role as Sakina, adding emotional depth to the narrative.
