In a dangerous incident in Hyderabad, a man identified as Chiran ignited a fire at a petrol pump after reportedly being challenged by a pump employee, Arun. The event, captured on CCTV, took place in the Nacharam area and showed Chiran, in an inebriated state, arriving with a cigarette lighter in hand. Arun, who was filling fuel into a scooter, allegedly dared Chiran to ignite the lighter. In response, Chiran accepted the challenge and set the lighter aflame, leading to a sudden fire that caused panic among people at the station, including a woman and child who narrowly escaped the flames.
Following the fire, both Chiran and Arun were arrested by local authorities and charged under laws related to mischief by fire and explosives. This reckless act, which could have resulted in a catastrophic explosion, highlights the potential dangers of provocative behavior, especially in a high-risk area like a petrol station. Local police condemned the act, emphasizing the severe risk it posed to the public, and both men are set to face further legal proceedings in Hyderabad.
