
Mumbai’s long-awaited Metro-3, the city’s first underground metro service, finally opens today, ushering in a new era of transportation for the bustling metropolis. This major project, which has been in development for years, will significantly ease traffic congestion across Mumbai’s core areas. The new Metro-3 line covers critical zones from Colaba to SEEPZ, offering smoother, faster travel for millions of daily commuters.
The 33.5-kilometer line has 27 underground stations, including key hubs like Worli, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), and Dharavi. The service will run from 5 AM to 11 PM, offering trains at regular intervals, ensuring minimal waiting time for passengers. The fares start at Rs 10 for short distances, with a maximum fare of Rs 50 for the entire stretch, making it an affordable option for daily travelers.
