Mumbai Police recently arrested a 24-year-old woman named Fatima Khan after she allegedly sent a threatening message to the city’s traffic control room, targeting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The threat claimed Adityanath would face the same fate as the recently murdered Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique if he did not resign from office. Police traced the message to Khan, who resides in the Thane district and holds a BSc in Information Technology. Authorities have described her as mentally unstable, and further investigations are ongoing to understand her motives.
This incident has added to recent security concerns, as Adityanath is scheduled to visit Maharashtra for campaign events in the upcoming state elections. Mumbai Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad, working with local law enforcement, located Khan’s residence and detained her without incident. This comes shortly after other high-profile threats, including demands for extortion from Bollywood actor Salman Khan, allegedly connected to the same group involved in Siddique’s murder.
