BJP Criticizes Congress-NC Alliance Over Article 370 After Pakistan’s Minister Comments
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a fresh attack on the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, following remarks made by a Pakistan minister regarding Article 370. The Pakistani official condemned the abrogation of Article 370, a move by the Indian government in 2019 that stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status. In response, BJP leaders stated that the comments from Pakistan exposed the true intentions of the Congress-NC alliance, accusing them of sympathizing with Pakistan’s stance.
BJP spokespersons have repeatedly argued that the abrogation of Article 370 was a historic move that fully integrated Jammu and Kashmir into India. However, opposition parties such as the Congress and the NC have maintained that the decision undermined the region’s autonomy and led to unrest. The recent comments by the Pakistani minister have only reignited the political debate surrounding this sensitive issue.
BJP leaders asserted that the Congress-NC alliance’s opposition to the Article 370 decision aligns with Pakistan’s viewpoint, which they claim works against India’s national interest. The BJP has also criticized the alliance for not supporting the government’s efforts to bring peace and development to Jammu and Kashmir post-abrogation. As the region moves towards possible state elections, the issue of Article 370 continues to be a major talking point in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
